Software: Wound Healing Protocols™ |
|
Wound Healing Protocols™ was designed to aid clinicians and caregivers with the assessment, documentation, and tracking of wound treatment. The program was conceived by a wound care specialist in clinical practice in response to the need for consistent and simple tracking and documentation of wound treatment. The program clearly defines basic wound indices and healing principles. The Windows®-based program is quick and easy to use and is flexible enough to be used in any medical setting. Assessment: WHP cues providers as to which indices should be checked to consistently and thoroughly assess wound healing. A healing score is generated for each treatment which provides an objective measurement of wound healing progress. Documentation: Treatment details, including the dressings applied, the patient's healing score and any treatment notes can be printed as a neatly formatted report for placement in the patient chart and to facilitate communication with other clinicians involved in the patient's care. Tracking: By consistently entering data on wound treatments, a full range of wound healing indices can be used to follow wound healing progress and evaluate treatment success. The healing score is an additional tool for evaluating progress toward healing. The comorbidity and medication scores help to identify patients with underlying conditions that present challenges to healing. In addition, the types and quantities of products and dressings used are clearly identified. This is particularly important in communicating treatment plans to other caregivers and in tracking dressing costs. The data put into the program can be used to generate reports about overall wound healing rates for your facility, product usage and efficacy, patient demographics, etc… Turn to page 7 for a more detailed description of ready-made reports included in Wound Healing Protocols. In addition, more advanced users can create custom reports using program data.
